Where to do Cultural dance in Uganda
Kasubi Tombs
A UNESCO world heritage site, very rich for culture.
Ndere Cultural Centre
Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala's Ntinda suburb is home to the Ndere Troupe, a professional dance and music company that performs a single show drawing on traditions from across Uganda's many ethnic groups, from Buganda court dance to Karamojong jumping dances, in one evening.
Karamojong Manyattas
The Karamojong manyattas around Moroto and Kotido are traditional fortified homesteads of the Karamojong, Uganda's semi-nomadic cattle-herding people, whose culture remains distinct from the Bantu traditions of southern and western Uganda. Visits are arranged through community tourism programs that bring direct income to the homesteads visited.
Mutoto Cultural Site
Mutoto Cultural Site near Mbale is the traditional ceremonial ground of the Bagisu people's Imbalu circumcision rite, a biennial coming-of-age ceremony for young Bagisu men that draws large crowds from across the whole Mount Elgon region in its ceremony years.
