Uganda Activity
Fly-in Safari
Skip the long dusty roads by boarding a light aircraft directly to remote airstrips inside Uganda's wilderness areas.
- What Happens
- You arrive at Entebbe International Airport or a regional hub to board a modern caravan aircraft. As you take off, you look down at a dramatic bird's-eye view of Lake Victoria, winding rivers, and shifting landscapes. After a short, smooth flight, the pilot lands on a bush airstrip where your Huko Safaris guide waits with an open-top vehicle to transfer you straight into your lodge or an immediate game drive.
- How It Feels
- You feel a rapid transition from the urban bustle to total isolation within minutes. The slight vibration of the prop plane gives a true sense of exploration. Looking down from the window brings a calm realization of how vast and untouched East Africa truly is.
- Who It's For
- Ideal for premium travelers, photography enthusiasts, and visitors with limited vacation time who want to maximize their days on the ground.
- Good to Know
- Strict luggage limits apply on small domestic planes, typically restricted to fifteen kilograms per passenger in soft-sided bags. Flights are weather-dependent and offer massive time savings, turning a ten-hour drive into an easy one-hour flight.

Where to do Fly-in Safari in Uganda
Murchison Falls National Park
Uganda's largest national park, centred on the Nile as it forces through a narrow gorge to form the powerful Murchison Falls.
Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s most remote and ruggedly beautiful savanna wilderness, spanning 1,442 square kilometers in the extreme northeastern Karamoja region. Bordering South Sudan and Kenya, the park features a dramatic landscape dominated by the Narus and Kidepo valleys, flanked by the soaring Mount Morungole and rugged mountain ranges. Because it is isolated, it receives a fraction of the tourists found in western Uganda, providing an exclusive, untamed safari atmosphere reminiscent of Africa fifty years ago. The park protects a diverse ecosystem of montane forests and semi-arid savanna grasslands. It is home to 86 mammal species and over 460 bird species, including many found nowhere else in the country.
